The transformer is unpowered. This models only its primary–secondary insulation barrier as parallel R and C, not magnetic transfer or the core. All component values, timings and trip limits are authored examples, not required test settings.
At steady voltage: Iᵣ = V/R, I꜀ = 2πfCV, Iᵣₘₛ = √(Iᵣ² + I꜀²). During ramps the cycle-averaged estimate is √((V/R + C·dV/dt)² + (2πfCV)²). The meter shows resistive and quadrature capacitive components; the small ramp term is included in total current. Voltage is RMS; peak is √2 × RMS.
An ideal detector trips at the threshold with no delay or source sag. Breakdown is a user-selected RMS onset, not a prediction of material failure. Partial discharge, arcing, dielectric absorption, nonlinear insulation, measurement filters and tolerances are outside this model. A pass means this simulated barrier met the chosen settings only.
Ramp down is a modeled AC voltage envelope, not a DC discharge test or a safe-to-touch indication. Physical testing requires the transformer’s specified test method and the tester’s manual.
